Our Ethos

Here at Body & Bowl we believe that the key to a happy life is through exercise and good nutrition, that it is truly beneficial for the body and the soul.

In todays world of technology and social media and crazy working hours it is so important for us to move and to take care of our bodies and our mental health.

Our names are Jane and Aimee and we want to make your health and mental wellbeing your priority! We want to help you to achieve this by making it as easy as possible for you.

Our backgrounds are in catering and healthcare respectively. We are qualified Personal Trainers and we have combined our skills to create a gym environment that encompasses all the above.

A lot of people find the gym part easy, they go 3 or 4 times a week and kill it in the gym or classes or whatever it is that they enjoy. What is holding them back from reaching their goals is their food.

People grab handy food for snacks to rush back to their desks at work and then home after a long day of work and a gym session and are greeted with unhealthy food options.

Our goal is to change mindsets around food and exercise so it no longer is a struggle or a chore. We tailor make exercise plans and nutritional guidelines for each individual to suit their different lifestyles and goals.

Meet Our Coaches

Aimee

I have been involved in sports throughout my life from team sports such as GAA and basketball to more individual sports like Taekwondo and currently Powerlifting.

I have huge interest in strength training and empowering people through this style of training and the changes it can bring about in a person’s life.

My background is in healthcare, I worked as a Respiratory and Sleep Physiologist in Dublin, testing patients for lung disease and sleep disorders and also performing cardiac screenings in large companies and sports teams to test for early signs of heart conditions/ precursors of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.

Seeing the impacts of many often preventable diseases on lives I am particularly interested in disease prevention through nutrition and exercise, as I feel there is a very heavy emphasis in our society on treating disease rather than trying to prevent it developing in the first place. I would also love to see more people with pre-existing health conditions or disabilities become involved in sport and exercise and provide an environment where they feel confident and comfortable to do so.

I believe that exercise should be accessible for everybody and through Body & Bowl we hope to make that the case.

Jane

I have been immersed in the combination of food and fitness for several years. Food has always been a huge passion of mine and having over four years of experience within the culinary industry has helped me gain the knowledge to understand the essentials of creating a healthy, balanced diet using nutritional food. The key is knowing how simple and accessible it is to have delicious, quick, easy meals full of everything your body loves!

I jumped into the fitness training lifestyle in 2014, I found huge benefits in so many aspects of my life, especially the positive mental effects that exercise can have.
My main drive towards my professional training was helping people understand the benefits of a balanced diet and exercise, fitness and wellbeing no matter what your abilities are.


My training style is functional fitness and strength training (metabolic conditioning). I am a strong believer that what you do in the gym should be transferable to your everyday lifestyle. Training in the gym has helped my abilities in sports such as hiking, kayaking, surfing, as well as many other aspects.

Seeing the mental barriers that are common within fitness is something I am passionate about helping you overcome. I have acquired some experience with mental health and certain physical and special educational needs.

At Body & Bowl we understand the importance of complete flexibility within personal training. Keeping it personalised for each client means that fitness and a healthy lifestyle can be available for everyone in a comfortable and fun environment.
